Our Classes
At Hot Mess Studios, creativity is the name of the game — and “messy” is encouraged. Their classes let you leave perfection at the door and dive, hands-first, into artistic exploration. Here’s what they currently offer:
Pottery Wheel
Spin, shape, and surprise yourself. In this class, you’ll take a lump of clay and coax it into mugs, vases, or whatever your imagination allows. No experience necessary — the instructors guide you step by step, helping you control the wheel and shape your form.
Date Night
Ignite some creativity (and maybe a little friendly clay-competition) on your next night out together. Hot Mess Studios’ Date Night is a relaxed, hands-on experience that mixes art and conversation in a fun, low-pressure setting. Celebrate your anniversary or birthday with us.
Glazing Your Pottery
After your piece is formed and fired, glazing is where it comes alive. This class walks you through dipping, brushing, or spraying color onto your ceramic piece, experimenting with layers and finishes to make it uniquely yours. (Note: this class applies only to pieces made in their pottery wheel sessions.)
Hand Building
Prefer a slower, more deliberate pace? Hand building is for you. Using hands, clay tools, and simple techniques like pinching or slab construction, you can build anything from decorative forms to functional pottery — no spinning wheel required.
Ceramic Painting
This is the “drop in and chill” class. Pick a bisque (blank ceramic piece) — think mugs, bowls, or figurines — then paint it however you like. It’s perfect whether you’re new or practiced; just bring creativity and your color ideas. MIN OF 2 HOURS. There will be a $10 charge for each additional hour.
Candle Making
A little wax, a wick, and your favorite scents. In this class, you’ll get to pour, mix, and mold candles — customizing fragrance and color to create a piece that’s both beautiful and functional.
Resin Making
Add some shimmer and shine to your creativity with our resin on wood class. This workshop blends the natural beauty of wood with the bold, glossy finish of resin art. You’ll start with a wooden base and learn how to mix, tint, and pour resin to create a one-of-a-kind piece that’s equal parts rustic and modern.
Jewelry Making
Get crafty with wearable art. You’ll learn hands-on techniques for making stretchy beaded bracelets and molding polymer clay earrings. Great for beginners or anyone who wants to make a meaningful accessory.
Summer Camp
Let creativity run wild this summer. Hot Mess Studios’ Summer Camp is a day-camp built for kids aged about 9 to 12, offering a full week (Monday–Thursday) of art, clay, and creative play. Hot Mess Studios
Camp runs from 11:00 am to 2:00 pm. Hot Mess Studios
The four-day camp is priced at $300. Hot Mess Studios
Each day, campers try different creative projects—pottery (wheel and hand building), painting, jewelry making, candle crafting, and more. Hot Mess Studios
To keep things personal and hands-on, the camp caps at 10 participants each session. Hot Mess Studios
Items made on the wheel are fired after camp, and campers return for a glaze session (at no extra cost). Hot Mess Studios
Each week has its own theme, so even returning campers will see something new.
